Communication is a fundamental human human right.  Since 2016, Kalista has focused her practice on Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC).  She has worked in multiple school boards supporting AAC assessment, implementation, professional development, parent training, and SLP capacity building. 

Experienced in:

- iOS AAC programs including TouchChat, LAMP Words for Life, PODD, TD Snap, Proloquo2Go, Speak for Yourself AAC, CoughDrop, and more!

- Dedicated devices including Saltillo, PRC, and Tobii Dynavox, and Grid Pad.

- Direct and indirect access.

- AADL funding Speech-Generating Communication Devices (former authorizer 2017-2021).

- Alternative funding sources.

- Multidisciplinary collaboration with Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Teachers of the Blind or Visually Impaired, Teachers of the Deaf/Hard of hearing.
